Assassins Creed: Empire
« on: January 21, 2016, 11:11:58 PM »

A lot of speculation and concept art. Not sure if Ubisoft confirmed yet.

Topic will be updated when new information gets released

"Spoilers that may be true:
Ancient Egypt setting to avoid “historical accuracy,” offers freedom for heavy handed storytelling
Set prior to all other Assassin’s Creed titles, before the formation of the Assassins and Templars
Protagonist is a slave/ex-slave that looks like Altair, but with darker skin
Talks of a protagonist-focused trilogy, like Ezio, with Greece/Rome in the future
Little to no recycled content beyond animations, seamless world exploration
Three times the size of Black Flag"

compared to their 1 game per year idea, waiting 2 years to make a better game is not that bad. I mean, Black Flag and Syndicate are great games and they were made in one year. Rogue and Unity are good too but Unity had too much bugs because it was their first time releasing a game with the next gen engine and it obviously didn't worked out pretty well, but with the patches that they made for Unity I can say that it's very more playable now than before.

(Yes I have all of those #acfan) :P

AC 2 was the only game that I really enjoyed of AC ... I've completed the story like 3 or 4 times already. Though ofc. I haven't tried all of them, I've only tried Brotherhood,3 and 4.

I'll just go ahead and say that I'm gonna be smoking a cigar and laughing when I will read about the announcement of Assassins Creed 27 in 2020

I agree with Fuzzy on this one... I didn't even bother playing Unity and Syndicate anymore, since they're all the same. The last proper AC for me was Black Flag.

It's set for 2017 so they're skipping a year.

I'm sure they'll fill the void with something like Rogue.

I wouldn't mind if they do it, in fact I also thought of this, using the same system that used black flag and rogue to make a new game for the old consoles is not a bad idea. But ubisoft already said that they were not going to do that, it would make all the kiddos that sold their old console to buy a new one get mad.

You should play Rogue, because it's actually about Assassins vs Templars this time.

They've basically used the same game mechanics in a few games and totally re-did everything at a certain point.

Playing from AC > AC Revelations was pretty much the same with a lot of different features.
Playing from AC 3 > Rogue was again basically the same with new textures, animations and features
Unity and Syndicate felt different which might be because of the completely different time and map setting as well as completely new combat system.

AC3 is definately my favorite, gameplay and story wise.

Each time I finish a new AC game I start all over again with the series, just for the story and experience. To me it's like a TV show which you can interact with and I just really like the story. (which unfortunately didn't get much better after Desmond died, nonetheless AC Rogue was a good story)

Ancient Egypt? Oh gosh, this game is gonna be so full of illuminati symbols. Pyramids, and eye caligraphies and more pretty stuff.

It's true they use the same mechanisms but, what's wrong with that, I mean AC3 was awesome, brotherhood was awesome, Assasin's Creed is already awesome, now we are going through history in slightly better game graphics, each year.

It's not like FIFA and PES that they make each year a new game just to change the team players, transfers and such and add some new stuff.

Even though all of that shit existed long before the illuminati did.

I think that a good story can go over a few games, for example the Mass Effect series... But it has to stay within a decent timespan and amount of games to conclude the story.

With Assassin's Creed, the story started out in 2007, now we're 9 years further and I don't think the story of Assassin's Creed did end yet. They lost me troughout the storytelling that is split in too many chapters that basically didn't add much to the final ending.
It's like they wanted to proceed with the story at a good pace in Assassin's Creed 2, but after ACIII, I think they just stalled.
